Moving on from dinner parties, cocktail soirees and happy hour gatherings with friends and family is the all-time favorite morning foodfest, The Brunch. Frankly, the aromas of French toast, breakfast egg and bacon casserole, eggs benedict and cinnamon rolls send me into an elevated state of joy. But do I want to awaken at the crack of dawn, cook all these goodies and execute the final setup? Absolutely NO!
In all honesty, the aforementioned statement was written before I began using a few gadgets and gizmos (all sent as samples) that helped make my latest brunch prep relatively easy and as enjoyable as possible. (I’ve also expedited prep for lunch and dinner dishes, too, with these much appreciated items.)
Our latest brunch menu consisted of Mimosas (of course!), a classic cheese, fruit and Marcona almonds plate, mouthwatering Eggs Benedict, blueberry scones picked up at my favorite bakery, Apple Danish, fresh garden salad with a light dressing, and dessert of lemon sorbet with a mint leaf and drizzle of local honey. I crafted the menu to be as easy as possible and with the help of my new gadgets, it was!
But first… about that brekkie bev. Who doesn’t love a refreshing Mimosa to start the morning? The recipe is ridiculously simple when you consider that equal parts chilled, dry sparkling wine and freshly squeezed orange juice are the ingredients. Pour the bubbles into your Mimosa glasses (purchase a set of 8 glasses for $22.95 HERE), then add the refreshing juice for a brilliant kickoff to brunch.
To squeeze those oranges in record time, I used one of my new favorite gadgets: Hands Free Citrus Juicer by Vinci! This is a steal for $95 and has made my life so much easier. All you do is slice the fruit in half, place the fruit on the Reamer, and press the juice button. Voila! I’ve used the Hands Free Citrus Juicer with oranges, of course, but also with limes, lemons and grapefruit for use in cocktails and other dishes. Go ahead and purchase the juicer at Amazon HERE. You’ll love it!
There’s another gizmo to appreciate: KLOVEO Champagne Stopper. The chrome-plated stainless steel body and hinge construction makes Kloveo the most durable sparkling wine stopper and is the #1 best selling stopper in Italy and France. I’ve used it more than once – just purchase 2 or more if you love sparkling wine. The Kloveo champagne stopper is available HERE for $23.75 each and is a perfect addition to your barware.
Have you ever made Eggs Benedict in an air fryer? I hadn’t either until I received a West Bend Dual Basket 10 qt. Air Fryer. Sure, I could have put together the egg dish in a more traditional manner, but by using the air fryer, I was able to free up the oven and stovetop for other dishes. The West Bend air fryer has 15 cooking presets, dual cooking capacity, temperature control, nonstick coating in the baskets and more. I also made the Apple Danish in the air fryer, too! For the Eggs Benedict recipe, click HERE and the Apple Danish recipe is found HERE. Enjoy this incredible appliance that you can order HERE. Then, thank me when you note that your electric bill has been reduced because you’re not firing up the oven!
Congratulations on hosting the easiest and most delicious brunch brought to you by your latest gadget and gizmo finds. Now it’s time to relax with a bit of aromatherapy thanks to the Bliss Gift Set ($67) from Concrete Poppy. It includes a 6 oz. “burn to bloom” soothing candle, room and linen spray, CP branded matches and a handwritten gift notecard – just purchase HERE. Pair with well deserved sips of sparkling wine, of course.
Cheers! ~ Cindy
