Just in time for the holidays is National Sangria Day on December 20. What? Sangria Day in December? Aren’t we supposed to be cozying up to a warm fire with a glass of red wine and a loved one, good book or cozy blanket? I thought this celebratory beverage day was ill-timed, until I realized…any day can be Sangria Day! Who cares if we drink Sangria during the blustery days and nights of winter? Let’s do this!
One of my favorite Argentine producers, award winning Bodega Ruca Malen, has introduced a few wines in their Aimé Ruca Malen portfolio (received as samples) that can be enjoyed by the aforementioned fire or blended with fresh fruit to create Sangria. Move over festive holiday punch in those adorable tiny cups… a full pitcher of Sangria is ready for pouring in a tall glass!
Aimé is a new wine collection inspired by simple, genuine experiences and a zest for life. Our inspiration: to offer wines that bring real enjoyment, wines that are made to be savored and shared in the Argentine way. The accent on Aimé symbolizes a wine that stands apart. We deliver a richness of flavor and pleasure that is the best companion to a life overflowing with friendship and good times. Aimé Ruca Malen
If you can’t wait to have a glass of red wine, the 2016 Aimé Ruca Malen Red Blend, a luscious combo of Bonarda, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec grapes from the North Oasis and Uco Valley, is perfect. With elements of blackberries, plums, and earth notes on the nose and palate, the Red Blend delivered spice and flavor with each sip. Likewise, the 2016 Aimé Ruca Malen Malbec, 100% Malbec from Mendoza, burst with rich aromas and flavors of chocolate, black cherries, red and purple fruit, and vanilla.
When you add fruit and more to a pitcher of either of these delicious red wines? You’ve just created a fruity, lush, booze-filled, refreshingly fun Red Sangria that will be an exceptionally unique pairing with pastas, juicy steaks, charcuterie, cheeses, and more! An easy recipe for Red Sangria that requires only a few ingredients (one of them is 2016 Aimé Ruca Malen or Malbec, of course) please click here.
Celebrate National Sangria Day with a full pitcher of Aimé Ruca Malen wines on December 20. And if you want to make a refreshing pitcher of Sangria another day? Do it!
Cheers! ~ Cindy
