Each time I visit Rebar, the cool, sophisticated, and trend setting bar and lounge located on the mezzanine level at the Trump Chicago Hotel, I discover something new. Whether it is a delicious Champagne to sip, a unique craft cocktail to appreciate, or the perfect artisanal bite for pairing, a glass and small plate are always calling my name.
I recently attended a media event at which I sampled innovative small bites and (more than one glass of) a notable Champagne then watched their mixologist create some of the most interesting cocktails I’ve sipped. Set against a backdrop of the city’s twinkling lights reflected on the Chicago River, my holiday spirit was alive and well at Rebar. And yours can be, too!
Although I sip mostly wine, it was difficult to turn my sights and palate away from Bobbing for Apples with Bacardi, chila orchata, lemon, pumpkin, and apple cider, Fear Not with Angel’s Envy Rebar blend, Carpao Antica, Zirbenz Pine liqueur, and Bitter Truth chocolate bitters, or Smoldering Baptiste with Royal Combier, mezcal, Figgard Banane du Bresil, and lime. Just delicious… Also offered were Flore Veneziane, Negroni de Cacao, and Porte des Morts, choices that are guaranteed to keep anyone’s spirits in high gear!
